Volunteer of the Month

This month we honor Christine Chan and her son Aaron Leung.

Christine first learned about The Sharing Shelf through Aaron's school bulletin years ago and became a clothing donor. She has been receiving our newsletter and following our work ever since but the mother and son only recently found the time to volunteer.

In Christine's words, "our initial intent was to fulfill some community service requirement for school. Along the way, we were able to learn more about The Sharing Self and meet you and your wonder team. We really enjoyed being in such a positive environment. I also like the organization's mission of helping and consciously protecting dignity."

Aaron and Christine initially joined us to help set-up for Community Packing Day. They returned - for double shifts - almost every day through our distribution days. This dynamic duo quickly learned the ropes and were soon training and leading other volunteers.

For the fall, both Christine and Aaron are scheduled to come back and join us as we sort clothing. They look forward to helping us regularly. We look forward to seeing them again soon!
