We Pick Up!

Introducing The Sharing Shelf's pick-up service!

We are piloting a new initiative to pick-up your donations from your home, one neighborhood at a time and ask for a small donation to help us off-set our costs for the service.

Upcoming dates:

  • March 18 Chappaqua/Armonk/Pleasantville

  • April 15 Irvington/Ardsley/Dobbs Ferry/Hastings

  • April 22 Rye/Rye Brook/Purchase

  • April 29 Pelham/Bronxville

  • May 13 Larchmont/Mamaroneck

  • May 20 Scarsdale/Edgemont

Space is limited and there is a cap of 10 bags per home. To register, click here.

The Sharing Shelf approach is unique - we are the only nonprofit with a pick-up service that sees your donations as reusable as clothing to help address clothing insecurity. Donations will come to our Clothing Bank where volunteers will sort them them by quality, size, season and gender then use the clothing to create Wardrobe Packs - a week's worth of clothing matched into seasonally appropriate outfits - for local children and teens from economically vulnerable families.

We have seen a 149% increase in demand in the last two years and we need more clothing to reach more children and teens. We have experienced a 25% increase in need since January 2023 compared to 2022.

Now is the perfect time to check your closets and drawers, then bag up those outgrown sweats, jeans, sweatshirts and coats to help clothe others

Preference will be given to those who have spring and summer clothing donations in children's sizes. We have an acute need for lightweight clothing for boys and girls, especially sizes 7 through 14/16 (youth XL) and for teen girls in size M and larger.

The driver will pick-up clothing only.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for this service. You can make your donation here.
