The Sharing Shelf includes diapers in each pack of clothing that we prepare for a newborn, infant or diaper-wearing toddler. SNAP benefits, better known as food stamps, do not cover the purchase of diapers and few food pantries provide this expensive item. The lack of diapers forces low-income parents to make a difficult choice with their limited income. Babies and toddlers are often left in soiled diapers for long periods of time, leading to discomfort, diaper rash, and can potentially lead to other negative health consequences.
We proudly work in partnership with Westchester County's Diaper Bank to help meet this critical need.
We accept donations of new diapers, including open packages, as well as wipes. Demand is most acute for sizes 4, 5, and 6 and Pull-ups in sizes 2T and larger.
